Deliverance Church Christ Centre (“Christ Centre”), informally referred to as CHRIST CENTRE, was planted on 15 September 2019 by Deliverance Church Kahawa Sukari (“Mother Church”). The journey, however, began years earlier.

In September 2012, the mother church started a youth fellowship dubbed ‘The Xperience’. The fellowship was based in various locations including St. Francis’ Kahawa Sukari building and the Outback Bazaar on Baringo Road in Kahawa Sukari where it is currently held on Thursdays. The fellowship at that time mainly comprised university students attending Kenyatta University and the youthful population around Kahawa Sukari and Wendani.

Over time, the fellowship highlighted various needs along Baringo Road, Wendani and their environs. There were many students; young families; exposure to drug and substance abuse; a thriving and unreached business community; and few churches in the area. These needs sparked a burden to pray and reach out to the community through the gospel. After years of prayer and careful consideration, the mother church found it necessary to plant a church in the same location - the Outback Bazaar - to preach the gospel, make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20) and meet the needs of the community biblically and practically.

Since its inception, Christ Centre has celebrated four (4) anniversaries. The church has evolved in its size; membership; number and scope of ministries; leadership and administration structures to mention but a few. This growth has enabled the church to expand its impact both locally and internationally. Through opportunities of higher learning and job placements, the church has prayed over and commissioned various Christ ambassadors to other parts of the country as well as other countries including The United Kingdom and France.
Moreover, the church has partnered with mission organizations such as the Centre for Mission Mobilization (CMM) and Good Seed Profession for Mission Ministry (GSPMM) hosting missionaries, supporting mission mobilization efforts and training missioners. In July 2024, Christ Centre by the grace of God, sent about 20 missionaries on a two-week outreach to Hawassa and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where there was a great harvest of about 300 souls.
